"I Proved my Love this Way"

 

I thought time would heal the wounds that so deeply pierce my heart,

but each day that goes by is yet another day I face that we are apart.

 

I find time doesn't heal my emptiness because I always wake up to find,

I chose this pain by relinquishing you and I couldn't change my mind.

 

Such a loss to choose- the reality breaks my heart even now- more and more each day,

I love you my sweet daughter- I hope you will know that I proved my love this way.
